Ever wondered... ?

Ever wondered what I was up to when I went to school? Today I found my book, Augenblicke, on Google Books. I self-published it back when I was 18, and be warned: it's not great literature, and has embarrassingly many typos. I guess that comes from not letting anyone else proof-read, and possibly having read the stories too often back then. There's a couple of weird texts in there, but then again I've always been a bit weird.

I don't think the writing is great, but I am proud of a couple of pieces. Most of the stuff I wrote was in German, and certainly everything in the book is German. But one of my short stories - probably the best I wrote - I recently translated and uploaded to YouTube (see the German or English version). It's Dedicated to The Death, and that story is also in the book. I didn't include any poems in the book, so here's my probably most successful one:

Für Dich

Ein Blick
Sagt mehr
Worte bringen Gewissheit
Doch nur die
Die man ersehnt
Worte lügen leicht
Nicht
Der Blick

Ein Wort von dir
Ist mehr
Schweigen umhüllt dich
Dein Blick zeigt nicht
Andere sehen
Was sie ersehnen
Was bleibt mir!
Ein Wort von dir
Denn wenn du sprichst
Sprechen deine Augen
mehr

It's hard to translate poems, and this is just a flimsy attempt. It should give you the basic idea, though:

For you

The look in your eyes
Says more
Words bring certainty
But just the one
You desire
Words lie easily
Not
The look in your eyes

A word from you
Is more
Silence surrounds you
The look in your eyes does not show
Others see
What they desire
What is left for me!
A word from you
Because when you speak
Your eyes speak
more

Juxtaposition honesty

Somewhat similar poetic contrast may be found in a poem that I encountered, many years age, in a Morelia bookstore . ( I'm sorry, can't recall the author ...)

En tus ojos el carino,
tu boca el desden .
Tu boca me dice VETE !
Tus ojos me dicen VEN ...

aha

ich dachte schon dein buch ist so gut das es in andere sprachen übersetzt wird

germany

you are from germany?
