I probably shouldn't be telling you this, because I haven't had the chance to order some myself yet, but:
I just discovered (mere seconds ago) that Nicoloas Terry is currently selling a very limited stock of Origamido paper. It's specialist origami paper made by Michael LaFosse and Richard Alexander, and it's a rare opportunity indeed to be able to buy it online (rather than flying to Hawaii). While it comes at a price (9.75€ per sheet), it's a superb deal for what you get. In Robert Lang's words: "thin, strong, crisp, takes a crease and It isn't overly weakened by folding". What else would you want? And if that doesn't convince you, Satoshi Kamiya is a convinced customer, too. So, if you want to fold a beautiful display model, this is a special treat you might want to afford.
This is your chance: http://www.origami-shop.com/papiers-papier-origamido-xsl-207_285.html
I'm guessing the paper will be out of stock very quickly. Please leave some for me!

Origamido paper?
why is it called "Origamido"
what does the "do" mean in "OrigamiDO"
Origamido
It's the company's name. Loosely translated, origamido means "the way of folded paper". See http://www.origamido.com/who-we-are/index.html

Origamido
Why can you only buy it in hawaii?? This makes no sense!
Relocated to Massachusetts, and origami-shop.com
Currently some Origamido is still available at origami-shop.com.
I believe Michael LaFosse and Richard Alexander are now based in Massachusetts, rather than Hawaii.

TANT paper in US
Probably the best source for tant in the US is now fineartsstore:
http://www.fineartstore.com/Catalog/tabid/365/List/1/CategoryID/23171/Le...
I think the 15 cm packages are a bit pricey. They also sell packages of 12" with 12 shades of green, blue, red, or yellow. You get roughly the same bang for your buck as with origami-shop.
Thanks for the feedback
I think this is the same link I posted about a month ago (8 May 2010, see below). Good to get confirmation that this is a source that can be recommended!

good news
It is a good news for me. It’s very kind for you to share this with us. Recently I just want to buy Origamado paper, and I am troubled in finding a good way to buy it. Now I got it, thank you for your kindness.
What are you going to fold
What are you going to fold with it?
Not sure
I'm not sure yet. I want to fold Hung Cuong Nguyen's eagle from one sheet, and maybe attempt another scaled koi from another. Once the paper arrives, I'll just have to see what it inspires me to fold. And then first practice fold the model until I'm happy with less expensive paper. ;)

tant paper
Sara could you please search for tant paper (except that from origami shop)?I searched but i didn't find something good so please could you do that?
Sorry, but...
I'd just google for it myself. I'm sure you can do just as good a job at searching the internet as me. It's not my job to do the searching for you. ;)

Tant!
There are two other sites that sell Tant in the 15cm size. I have ordered from both...Kim's Crane will charge you shipping, but they have a larger selection...also, it seems kims crane has only green right now, while paper jade has the assorted pack.

Also, if you are into ebay...Pixie's Origami Store has a nice selection of Tant...here is the link:

Tant paper from German site
I have bought from this site: http://www.schoene-papiere.de/origamiwelt/japanpapiere/02c5119c590906001...
which to me has the advantage that it is inside the EU (cheaper posting and no extra tax).
The site is also in English and French, but I found the links more reliable in the original German version.
The have packs of 100 shades, and of red/yellow/green/blue, and they have 3 colours in 25 cm. Nothing larger, unfortunately.
Regards,
Hans
Thank you for the news! I
Thank you for the news! I just 5... or 6... I dunno, I was too busy doing impulse buying. I also got some of their foils. Their foils (also listed as a limited item) seem to be some of the 50cmx50cm I saw at another convention years ago (but in 10m roll form!), and have been looking for ever since. I now have plenty!
Oh, and BTW, Micheal and Alexander are not currently in HI. They were for a few months earlier last year, but are back in MA. But they will be coming back here (Thats right! here! Where I am HAHAHA! ok, too excited) they'll be coming back here to Hawaii later this year.
Well, now that I got plently more paper, I can fold a little more freely knowing I have more sheets. I know what I'll make first, a wet-folded ancient dragon!
Well, I am very excited now, thank you for the link Sara.
ty
