You can also intersect the flaps of adjoining modules, giving the model a slightly different look.

While the original version is folded from 1:2√2 rectangles, it's also possible to use other rectangles. Here, I used 2:5 rectangles. Using that dimension, you only need three squares to cut all the 30 required rectangles, which is also perfect for a 3-coloring.

white/pink/blue: 3 cm by 7.5 cm (1 1/5 in by 3 in)
white/yellow/blue: 3.75 cm by 7.5cm (1 1/2 in by 3 in)

Finished models:
white/pink/blue: diameter of 7.5 cm (3 in)
