Review of the paper used:

Guess what the newest addition to my small origami library is? Yes, indeed! Finally, there's a book on tessellations! I received the book yesterday, and have keenly explored it. And: it is fantastic. I'll look into making a video on some tessellation techniques in the future. Many thanks to Eric Gjerde for making such a fantastic book on an area that really needed a good book on it.

Paper: 19.5cm square of transparent paper

Rose (Phu Tran)

I decided to give Phu Tran's rose a try today. Here's a picture of my first fold. I still have to work on the finishing touches, but I'll have to ponder on what those finishing touches should be.
This rose is a variation of Kawasaki-san's new rose. I fear Phu Tran hasn't found the time to diagram his model yet. But if you know how to fold Kawasaki-san's new rose, you're almost there. The crimps that round the rose are farther in the center, and some extra folds are added to form four additional petals.

Ox (John Montroll)

Chinese New Year coming up, and 2009 is the Year of the Ox. So I decided to give John Montroll's Ox a try. It's quite hard to get nice details with a 15cm square, so I recommend you fold it from slightly larger paper.

Paper: 15cm square, 65gsm
Model: 7cm length, 3.5cm height, 4cm width (horns)
